Dare to Dream Services

The decision to seek out counseling can understandably be a frightening experience, but with the right person, it will be the most rewarding journey you will ever embark upon. Sometimes, the mere idea of looking for a qualified person is daunting. As with any other medical professional, you want to work with someone who is not only trained and experienced, but is also a licensed professional to suit your needs.  Let me take a few moments to tell you about my background and services.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the State of Alabama, and a Licensed Professional Supervising Counselor (SC) by the State of Alabama, as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor, (NCC), by the National Board for Certified Counselors, as well as an approved clinical supervisor, and board certified telemental health provider by the National Board for Certified Counselors as well.  I own a private practice, "Dare to Dream" to help those who "Dare to Dream" to reach their goals. I've been in the field of mental health since 1997, and have over 22 years of Clinical Experience, providing services in the Madison, Marshall, Dekalb, Morgan, Lawrence, Limestone, and Jackson Counties.  I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from the University of West Alabama and my experience includes counseling in a variety of settings, ranging from private practice to professional organizations, as well as mental health centers with populations ranging from children to geriatrics on a large variety of mental health issues, ranging from depression, anxiety,, adjustment issues, to Schizophrenia and Bi-Polar Disorders.  As a program director, I supervised 14 staff members and managed a million dollar mental health program, while also ensuring training, quality assurance and performance improvement of approximately 200 employees. I also continue to provide training to mental health professionals throughout the state by overseeing the program "Leslie Phillips Seminars®" which hosts continuing education seminars for mental health professionals, as I am a NBCC approved continuing education provider, and an Alabama Board of Examiners in Social Work approved continuing education provider as well. I also provide supervision for those seeking state of Alabama LPC licensure. Lastly, I also teach Undergraduate Psychology courses with Columbia College.   I maintain a small, part time  private practice as well. I have a passion and experience to work with those that have adjustment issues (such as depression, anxiety, divorce, death, empty nesters, and those with food and weight loss issues), but work with many other mental health issues as well.

At this time, I do not accept or file insurance for clients. I will provide you, per your request, documentation that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I make no claim that you will be reimbursed for services provided.  Please contact me at leslie@daretodreamlife.com or 256-690-4982 for additional information.
